Program nights are held at the Optimist Club Hall the 3rd Thurs. of each month (Sept.-June). Involvement isn't just limited to members - get involved by volunteering with DHS. We're happy to have you.
If you enjoy gardening, here is your chance to improve your gardening skills. Relax for an evening, make some new friends, hear some excellent speakers, socialize and enjoy some delicious refreshments. Past guest speaker topics have included garden layouts, plants and propagation, lawn and garden care, ponds and maintenance, flower arranging, living wreaths, Christmas arrangements, and annuals and perennials. During our monthly program night members are eligible for door prizes.
Assist in running one of our several yearly events such as our plant sale, home and garden show, bus tours, photo contest, flower or vegetable show.
Take on the responsibility of weeding a specific flower bed all summer.
Assist on planting day and or garden clean up day in Dunnville.
Assist in the planning and working on a town improvement project such as: building the lighthouse by the bridge, creating new flower beds, developing the Thompson Creek Eco Centre, etc.
