Just in time for the holidays, Muddy the Mudcat has received a facelift!
Repairs were made to Muddy’s whisker by his creator Mike Walker. Walker also repaired a light fixture and will paint touch ups when the weather improves.

A partnership between Dunnville’s Rotary Club and the Dunnville Horticultural Society (DHS) resulted in the refurbishment of Muddy’s habitat as well.
A grant was provided to Rotary through the Grand River Conservation Authority.

Naturalized plantings were donated and completed by Russ Savage and his team from Landscapes by Russ, and a permanent edging was formed around the perimenter by George Byleveld of Geoscape Curbing.

Gary Schumacher of the original Big Mudcat Committee subsequently presented a donation of $1000 to DHS in appreciation for taking a lead role in the rehabilitation of Muddy’s habitat, to be used for ongoing enhancements to the park area.

Muddy has never looked better and Dunnville can be proud of this iconic feature in our community.
