
Artist Christian Corbet Speaking in Dunnville

DUNNVILLE – Internationally renowned artist Christian Corbet to speak in Dunnville. Best known for his outstanding resume of sculpted work and portraiture, Corbet will treat his audience to artistic insights seldem shared with the public. Noted recent works by Mr. Corbet include a bust of HRH Prince Philip, created from live sittings with the Prince himself at Buckingham Palace. In addition, he has been commissioned for works depicting Winston Churchill, Dr. Jane Goodall, General Romeo Dallaire and many others. His work is displayed in pretigious galleries and private collections the world over. While in Dunnville, Corbet will target the historic friezes of Dunnville’s Centennial Park Fountain for his refurbishment project. These friezes, created in 1967 by his mentor Elizabeth Holbrook, have fallen into a state of disrepair. The public will have two opportunities to hear Corbet speak. On May 9 at 7pm, the Dunnville Christian School (37 Robinson Road, Dunnville) hosts Mr. Corbet; a second presentation will take place at the Dunnville Optimist Hall (101 Main St. East) on May 18 at 7pm, hosted by the Dunnville Horticultural Society.
